Research Posters

The Wisconsin State Music Conference invites you to participate in this year’s research poster presentation. Participants conducting research may submit proposals. This research may be with students in their own K-12 classrooms, with community music groups, with collegiate students, or any other that would be of interest to music educators. Research topics may include in-progress projects, active music making ventures, or any type of information gathering to answer a music education question. All will be considered on an equal basis.

Deadline for Submission Consideration: October 2, 2023
Notification of Acceptance: October 6, 2023
Submission of all Required Information: October 15, 2023
Poster on Display: October 26 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and October 27 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Eligibility

Presenter must be a music educator in the state of Wisconsin.
Selected presenters must register for and attend the Wisconsin State Music Conference.

Required Information

If your session is accepted the following information will be required:
- Title
- Educator name
- Introduction – What I wanted to know (150 words or less)
- Methodology – What I did (150 words or less)
- Results – Facts I found (300 words or less)
- Discussion – What I think and what other scholars have said about this topic (300 words or less)
- Future Research – Additional research that could be based on this idea (1-2 ideas; 150 words or less)
- References (3-6 references in APA format)
- Charts (1-3 optional to illustrate your findings)
- Image of You
- School Name and Logo
- mp4 video of you (no longer than 2 minutes) describing your poster for attendees to view

Poster Presentation

Information provided will be prepared by conference staff as a poster.
Posters will be on display outside the exhibition hall Thursday and Friday.
Throughout the conference guests can view your research via poster, prepared QR code and summary video.
On Friday afternoon, pick up your poster by 2:00 p.m. or it will be disposed of.

Submission of Information

To submit your idea for possible inclusion, complete the Research Poster Proposal Form.
Once accepted by committee, additional information will be shared.
