Opening Concert – Wednesday, 7:00 pm
Several youth ensembles perform in this combined concert that is sure to spark your senses, including DrumPower (Madison), Dodici (Madison East High School), Wire Choir (Chippewa Falls High School) and Junge Kameraden Blaskapelle (Plymouth High School). Free to the public, this family friendly concert also kicks off the 2019 Wisconsin State Music Conference.
WMEA President’s Welcome – Thursday, 8:00 am
Start your day by recognizing colleagues from around the state as WMEA presents this year’s Distinguished Service Awards. Also, meet your WMEA leaders and hear a very special welcome by WMEA President Kati Seiter as well as a special address by Wisconsin State Superintendent of Public Instruction Carolyn Stanford Taylor.
One lucky attendee will be selected from a random drawing to receive a free 2020 conference registration! Must be present to win.
Networking Sessions – Thursday & Friday
Share ideas, issues, concerns and innovative solutions with your colleagues in the special networking sessions for collegiate, general music, orchestra, band and choir. Agendas will be open-ended. Simply come to the networking sessions with your discussion topics. The group facilitator will lead discussion to keep it moving along so all topics of interest and importance can be addressed.
Aspiring Music Majors Program – Friday
Support the future of music education by inviting your sophomores, juniors and seniors who are interested in the world of music at the post-secondary level to the Wisconsin State Music Conference. These students can visit college and university representatives, attend special sessions, get advice from current music majors and more.
