Service Awards

COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD:
The purpose of the award is to recognize significant contributions made to the school and community through support of music education. The nominee should be someone who has been supportive by volunteering time, talent or funds consistently for music education in a Wisconsin school and/or community. This is often a parent, private teacher or other interested volunteer. Who is eligible: Any community member.

DISTINGUISHED ADMINISTRATOR AWARD:
The purpose of the award: To recognize a school administrator who is an advocate for the importance of music in the school program. Who is eligible: Any school principal, superintendent or other administrator who has been in a Wisconsin school district for a minimum of three years.

DISTINGUISHED SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER AWARD:
The purpose of the award: To recognize a school board member who is an advocate for the importance of music in the school program. Who is eligible: Any current school board member for a Wisconsin school district.

GOVERNMENT LEADERSHIP AWARD:
The purpose of the award: To recognize an elected or appointed public official who demonstrates strong advocacy for the importance of music in a well-rounded education. Who is eligible: Any current or former Wisconsin elected or appointed public official at the local, state or federal level.

MUSIC INDUSTRY AWARD:
The purpose of the award: To recognize significant contributions and support to school music programs. Who is eligible: Any personal affiliated with a music merchant, music retailer, manufacturer, publisher, or other business that serves music.

MICHAEL G. GEORGE DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD:
The purpose of the award: To recognize significant contributions made by a professional to music and music education at the local and state or national level. Who is eligible: Any music teacher, music director or music administrator in a Wisconsin school district.
