State Event – 2022 NAfME Virtual Collegiate Summit
Join fellow collegiates at this year’s Wisconsin Virtual NAfME Collegiate Summit hosted by UW Eau Claire February 5, 2022 from 10:30 am – 5:00 pm. For just $5.00 attend workshops on curriculum and budget planning, choosing diverse and quality repertoire, multiple department integration and advocacy, general music in the classroom and teaching in an urban setting.
For an additional $5 attend a virtual workshop on Diversity in Education by Karen Howard from 8:30 – 10:30 am. Co-hosted by WSMA/WMEA and Association of Wisconsin-Area Kodály Educators (AWAKE), participants will engage in a presentation on recognizing cultural appropriation and identifying pedagogical strategies to avoid it, and how to ethically and practically research for repertoire and related materials. In addition, both new and old quality resources will be explored.
