NAfME – Among the world’s largest arts education organizations, NAfME (formerly MENC) marked its centennial in 2007. Through membership of more than 75,000 active, retired, and preservice music teachers, and with 60,000 honor students and supporters, NAfME serves millions of students nationwide through activities at all teaching levels, from preschool to graduate school. WMEA – One of the most active state music associations in the nation, WMEA membership is comprised of over 2,500 music educators committed to providing quality music experiences for their students. Each year WMEA hosts the Wisconsin State Music Conference, leads advocacy for music education in Wisconsin, and offers professional development opportunities to support members. The WMEA office is housed in the Wisconsin Center for Music Education in Waunakee, WI, along with Wisconsin School Music Association and Wisconsin Foundation for School Music. Professional Membership: Who is eligible?
This membership, also known as Active membership, is open to individuals who are currently engaged in music teaching, supervision or administration as a primary career, or are retired from the profession.
